Silver tetradrachm struck under the reign of Lysimachos, king of Thrace, around 297–282 BC. The obverse features a deified portrait of Alexander the Great, recognizable by the ram’s horns, symbol of Zeus-Ammon. The reverse shows Athena seated, holding a Nike (Victory) and a shield, with the legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ (“of King Lysimachos”). This coin illustrates the use of Alexander’s image to legitimize the power of the Diadochi
