Argos, located in the northeastern Peloponnese in Greece, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited Greek cities, with a history dating back to the Bronze Age. It played a significant role in Greek mythology, the Mycenaean civilization, and the classical and Hellenistic periods. Argos is associated with numerous myths, including those of Perseus, Danaë, Io, and the Danaids.
