Very rare drachm of Khosrow II, Sasanian emperor (591–628). This coin, struck at the WYHC (Ctesiphon) mint, is distinguished by the presence of three dots in the margin at 7 o’clock on the reverse — an extremely rare feature. Indeed, only three drachms bearing these dots are known from the Damas and Qamisliyya hoards (see Rika Gyselen & Ludvik Kalus, Deux trésors monétaires des premiers temps de l’islam).
