Silver denarius of Albin Cesar minted in Rome in 194. Bare head of Albin on obverse and Minerva holding a branch and shield on reverse. Decimus Clodius Albinus was a Roman general and politician. He was governor of Brittany. In 195, after the assassination of Pertinax, he proclaimed himself emperor. He was made Cesar before being defeated by Septimius Severus on the Ain plain north of Lugdunum (Lyon).
