From Duplessy: Upon the death of William the Silent, Philip William had been imprisoned in Spain since 1568. He was not released until 1595. His half-brother, Maurice of Nassau, acted as regent, but Orange was occupied by Hector de Mirabel, who minted coins on his own behalf.
