This rare silver écu features the “long lock” portrait of King Louis XIV and was minted in 1653 in Riom, identified by the mintmark O.
According to Gadoury, only 2,728 examples were struck (R3 rarity), while Clairand estimates the mintage at 4,085 pieces (R2 rarity).
