Description
Extremely rare “Mirliton” half Louis d’or of Louis XV, coin struck in 1723 in Paris (A). Only 9,600 pieces minted, classified R4 in the Gadoury and Clairand references. Small impact mark on the reverse, scratch on the obverse and slightly irregular flan.
Provenance: Vinchon sale, 9–10 December 1997, lot 297 (extremely rare, charming coin in VF condition) — 23,000 French francs.
