Silver medal struck to commemorate Napoleon Bonaparte’s return from the Egyptian Campaign to Fréjus, engraved by André Galle. Four ships sailing on the water and the Star of Lodi on the reverse.

The Star of Lodi is a semi-official distinction; the term originates from the Battle of Lodi, won by Napoleon during the Italian Campaign on May 10, 1796.

Napoleon would later say, ‘It was at Lodi that the soldier Bonaparte became General Bonaparte.’
