Leone Leoni (c. 1509–1590) was one of the most renowned medal engravers and sculptors of the 16th century, active primarily in Italy and at the imperial court of the Habsburgs. His brilliant career—often marked by a fiery temperament—produced some of the finest numismatic works of the Renaissance.
