Description

Issued to commemorate the centenary of Victoria (1834) and the foundation of Melbourne (1935). The coins were sold with a one-shilling premium to help fund the celebrations. 75,000 coins were minted, but by the end of the event, 21,000 coins remained unsold and were melted down.
