Lucius Caecilius Metellus, also known as Lucius Caecilius Metellus Denter, was a Roman general of the Roman Republic. He is known for his victory in the Battle of Panormus (now Palermo, Sicily) in 251 BC during the First Punic War.
The Battle of Panormus was a clash between the Roman forces led by Metellus and the Carthaginian army under the command of Hasdrubal, a Carthaginian general. Metellus successfully won this significant battle, which contributed to Roman successes in the war against Carthage.
