Gold solidus of the Roman Emperor Honorius, coin minted in Milan around 397–402. Honorius standing with one foot on a captive, holding a standard and a Victory globe (globus cruciger). Honorius was emperor of the Western Roman Empire from 395 to 423. His reign was marked by barbarian invasions and the sack of Rome in 410 by the Visigoths.
