Elagabal reigned from 218 to 222 AD, ascending to the throne aged just fourteen. Originally from Syria, he tried to impose the cult of the solar god Elagabal on Rome, overturning Roman religious traditions. His reign, marked by scandals and great political instability, came to an end when he was assassinated by the Praetorian Guard.
