Silver denarius of the Roman emperor Macrin, who reigned from 11 April 217 to 8 June 218. Before becoming emperor, Macrin served under Caracalla as Prefect of the Praetorium and dealt with Rome's civil affairs. He then conspired against him and had him assassinated, before succeeding him as emperor.
