Reverse legend

TOGIRIX

Silver denarius or quinarius of the Gallic tribe of the Sequani, struck between 80 and 50 BC. Stylized head facing left on the obverse, and a horse on the reverse. The Sequani were a people of eastern Gaul, occupying the region corresponding to present-day Franche-Comté, with Vesontio (modern Besançon) as their main center. Their coinage reflects both Celtic influence and contact with the Roman world.
